Kathleen Nowak Tucci is the artisan behind My Sister's Art. Her jewelry is just amazing and doubly so because the material she uses is recycled rubber! All her eco art jewelry is meticulously handmade. She has been an artist for 25 years but began designing her recycled rubber jewelry when her sister, Margaret Nowak Dobos asked her to design some avant garde jewelry to go with her similar styled clothing.

Margaret told me in an email, "She sent a package which I loved and she continued to explore and create...... with each creation better than the previous.  People were constantly stopping me to ask where I purchased my jewelry. And they still are."

The beginning of My Sister's Art began after Margaret walked into a boutique and the owner requested to see Kathleen's other designs. Today, both sisters work full time on their business - Margaret says it is more than full time - but they clearly enjoy what they do despite the long hours. Kathleen is kept busy with design and production. While Margaret's architectural training has helped her as the photographer, graphic designer, web designer who also takes care of marketing, sales and distribution.

The pieces are also charmingly named after female relatives going back as far as Poland in the 1800's! The designs shown here are Eleanor, Agatha, Marie and Genevieve.

They are both very excited as the jewelry designs recently made it into the Italian Vogue.  The words on the cover says it all about eco jewelry - The Latest Wave.  And that's exactly how the photographer did his shoot!
