If you are serious about making a go of your handmade jewelry business, you might like to know that the non-profit Arts Business Institute is about to have their winter workshop. It will be held on February 16-17 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.
The workshop takes place at the Buyers Market of American Craft, which also features the work of the best craft artists from the US and Canada. So attendees will get to tour a top notch wholesale trade show as well as benefit from a business learning experience.
The tuition is $250. What that covers are seminars on wholesaling, pricing, booth design, merchandising, creative marketing, sales strategies and advice on how to build relationships with galleries. Critique of attendees' work by the faculty of the Arts Business Institute and gallery owners will give invaluable insight into how one's work is perceived, which markets to aim for and whether price points are appropriate.

Wow, that sounds like an awesome opportunity! I wish I could go, but our travel budget limits us to trips to Chicago.
