Here is a different kind of wire pendant tutorial. It features a wire woven bail with lots of coiled wire loops to hold the focal bead in place.  The tutorial is by Erika Schneider of CleoDesign. This tutorial is best for someone with wire experience as the instructions and pictures are not easy to fathom out. Not much in the way of measurements is given. However, it is a lovely inspiration which should encourage you to experiment!

The designer doesn't show or mention it. But I would certainly use something like the Coiling Gizmo to quickly make long wire coils which can be slipped onto the main wire pieces. Be careful and gentle when you start curving the loops when the prepared coils are in place.

Although the focal is a side drilled bead, the framing could be used for a cabochon. There is one issue though. The cabochon might will rattle a bit because there is no way to tight the wire since it is all coiled up.

The tutorial is in Hungarian. So either use Google Translate or follow my favorite method. For computer users, use the Chrome browser, right click and select translate to EnglishFor mobile device users, use the Chrome app (free) and agree to the translation when asked.
