I've always found design challenges a lot of fun. They can be a good way to spark creativity. Sometimes challenges could be limited to just a certain combination of materials. But recently I got to try another approach which is to use up as many components as I could in a single all metal design.

TierraCast sent me their latest pewter connector collection, the Intermix, for review. They come in all kinds of finishes - shiny as well as antique, and in gold and silver finishes.  The larger connectors are floral. See here for their design ideas.  You can purchase their findings through jewelry suppliers or online here.

I played around the connectors and decided I liked the tapered look  in the middle, formed by 3 connectors.

I could certainly use jump rings but the irregular shape of the component meant the third addition didn't work.

So I wired them together using 26 G Parawire.  Using a length of wire, I started wrapping. All wire ends were trimmed and flattened so that they did not scratch.  I even wire wrapped in places I didn't need to just to add a bit of funky wrapping to the piece.

It helps to use a clip of some sort to hold two connectors together while wrapping.

I extended the necklace with their 3 petal connectors and 3 hole connectors.  Added a chain and clasp and viola!

As you can see the all metal design will go with just about any color of clothing!  Just what I wanted.

I kept the earrings simple.  Just made some ear wires and added the left over 4 petal connectors. These lovely components gave me another idea!  Tune in the next few weeks for a different tutorial on how to turn connectors into stud earrings.

Photography
I used natural light, my iPhone 6S with the Camera+  and ProCamera app. I also used both  Modahaus TS400 tabletop studio and the Orangemonkie studio (which comes equipped with LED lights) for artificial light photography in my windowless basement studio. The Foldio2 is particularly affordable.
