One of the reasons why I love jewelry making is because so many other handicraft techniques can be adapted making beautiful adornment.

Silk ribbon embroidery is yet another consideration. Thanks to Sandy of KeepsakeCrafts, you can see how it can be done.  Planning simple designs is key due to the small areas one has to work with. You can also add seed beads to the pieces.

The instructor does caution against pulling too tightly - the ribbon has to be "puffy" in order to form shapes as in the wings of the insects and flowers shown in the examples.
