Wavy Bead Woven Cord Necklace Tutorial

By on Sunday, June 12, 2016 1 Comments

You don't have to be a beader to really appreciate this wonderful wavy bead woven cord necklace tutorial by Svetlana McDaniel. It is a versatile design because you can create different cord foundations as well as use different types and colors of beads. The general technique is very similar to the ever popular bead wrapped bracelets - see links below.

I would actually sew the cords where they connect. Then use half round wire to wrap around. The two step process makes this easier and neater. Alternatively consider using thread to connect the cords.

The tutorial is conducted entirely in Russian.  But the demonstration is easy enough to follow.  Svetlana has an unusual surname.  I suspect she is descended from Scots who settled in Russia over several centuries.

Update: A reader tells me Svetlana is an American (Russian mother) teaching in Oklahoma! That explains it!! She has an Etsy store called BeadsMadness.

H/T to Aims.
