Thread Embroidered Floral Brooch Tutorial

By on Saturday, December 24, 2016 1 Comments

Many of you are skilled in other crafts. Have you considered applying thread embroidery to jewelry making yet?  This beautiful thread embroidered floral brooch tutorial should inspire! It is by "Daria-Weaver" over on Biserok. She also shows other examples including a stunning landscape embroidered scene in yellows and greens.

The crochet edging is a nice touch too! A simple felt backing holds the brooch pin at the back.

She used a recycled plastic container lid as the form in which to stretch her foundation.  I wonder if you could also make a thick wire form to do the same?  Stuff with some wadding to maintain the shape?  The wire ends can then be used to form the bail and convert this brooch idea into a neat pendant!

The tutorial is in Russian.  So you will need to translate the pages. For computer users, use the Chrome browser, right click and select translate to EnglishFor mobile device users, use the Chrome app (free) and agree to the translation when asked.
