This stunning nature inspired polymer clay flower cord necklace tutorial by Stella Glusko is wonderful. This design is not difficult to make so it will suit beginners.  The floral embellishments are easy to make as they are just circles.  Then it is on to stippling the surface with a stiff brush and scoring lines and dots in the clay.

I also liked her tip about covering wooden round beads.  It saves clay!

After baking, she painted the pendant and beads with black acrylic paint. Sanding the surface after the paint dried left the black lines and subtle black shadings here and there.
