Perhaps it's because I'm not fond of the color but I don't enjoy working with orange. It's a very bright color but as you can see from Yvonne's deft design, orange can be muted with other colors like grey and white. Yvonne has been a regular workshop attendee and we all enjoy seeing how her designs unfold.
Her starting point was the round marbled quartz disc which she used as her focal. There were orange, white and grey streaks in the gemstone. So she used glass pearls in varying shades of orange as well as white and grey to compliment the disc. She also used gold metallic cube beads as the spacers. Nice touch!

Very nice piece...I've never been very fond of orange either...but I find I've had requests for carnelian and seem to like it more now???
ReplyDeleteCheers
I like orange - especially orange flowers. Orange in beads - yes, carnelian is a favorite and you can find streaks of orange in a lot of things - like the quartz pendent above. I love her use of color - it's very pretty!
