I usually see scrolled wire work in earrings and bracelets but not that often in necklaces. Well, Naomi of Noxcreare not only introduced it in her necklace design, her tutorial is for a bold statement style too! Her blog is in Italian so you'll have to use Google Translate.
Her version was inspired by a design her friend saw in Elle magazine. The necklace looks really stunning when she modeled it wearing a plain dress. I am wondering if I should make myself one for the next party.
As you can see using lots of wire spirals is effective. It's also a good way to practice making spirals or scrolled pieces. She doesn't show how this is done so please check the tutorial links below if you are unfamiliar with the technique. One tip is to use nylon jawed pliers to prevent wire marks from happening.
