"Summertime, and the livin' is easy..." I just love George Gershwin's lovely aria for the 1935 opera Porgy and Bess. The languid music speaks volumes of the lazy hazy days of summer. So if you're up to a really easy project at this time of year, try this pretty bead and hemp anklet tutorial.
The tutorial by Adrianne Surian over at Consumer Crafts is just braiding but with doubled up hemp lengths. She used only 2 colors but you could also make them in all sorts of colors to use up odd beads. Call it rainbow then!
You can also make it smaller for a bracelet. Make several and go for the layered look!
Listen to Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong sing Summertime. I'll bet the music will be soothing to listen to while you whip up an anklet or bracelet or two!
