If you are fond of hoop earrings and usually make them from wire, here is a wonderful tutorial to up the ante! These are metal work earrings by Laurel Nathanson. Her basic tutorial was featured on the Jewelry Making Daily. (You do need to register -free).
It is not a full tutorial but she does show how she used metal work to form the U shape part including adding soldered bars. The alternative is to use a double eyepin (loops on both ends). Can't solder? then bars can be added with simple wire wrapping techniques.
