Polymer clay offers a lot of options for beautiful colors and textures. But so few artisans combine wire with it. The effect is simply wonderful! Just check out this awesome tutorial for a wire and polymer clay leaf brooch tutorial. It is by Karina Formanova over on Livemaster.ru
The tutorial is in Russian so you'll have to get the page translated. The step by step photos are beautifully done so they help a great deal. Her method of coloring the leaf is simply gorgeous,
Polymer clay shrinks very, very slightly after baking so that's probably what's holding the wire. If you do not have a separate toaster oven for polymer clay work, consider trying out the general idea with resin clay. No baking and the wire sticks readily to this adhesive clay. You can paint the resin clay after it dries hard.
