Metalsmith Daphne Krinos was originally from Greece but is now based in London, UK where the cityscape inspires her contemporary geometric framed gemstone jewelry. The clean architectural lines coupled with translucent gemstones feature in her distinctive and predominantly one of a kind designs.
She works with heavily oxidized silver and gold (sometimes recycled gold). The precious metals give two very different looks to her collections. One is almost industrial with the darkness and the other a luxurious yet utterly modern look.
Daphne says "I enjoy working to commission with a special person or theme in mind. My clients are collectors and people who like to be seen wearing high quality distinctive jewelry." Her work is in the permanent collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Her jewelry is also stocked at various international galleries.
If you are anywhere in the vicinity, you can see her exhibitions this month at the following places :
PATINA GALLERY Solo Exhibition Santa Fe (USA)
November 2015
COSMIMA Clerkenwell Gallery, London (UK)
25 – 29 November 2015
