Jewelry making with young children is both fun and exhausting. I know because I did do a few bead weaving parties like this one a long time ago. Children are almost always spontaneous - they have none of the creative hesitancy sometimes seen in adults. The bead weaving slows them down. The other way is to get them to make memory wire bangles. And that is exactly what Beading Buds based in the Greater Toronto Area does!
They offer beading parties for both children and adults. There are so many occasions where jewelry enthusiasts both young and old can get together and craft - birthday parties, crafting for sleepover parties, Bat Mitzahs, First Communion parties, girl guide events, showers, girls' night out and so on. While they do have the mobile party part of the business, they also sell just the kits.
Ester founded the business she now shares with her husband, 8 years ago when she was pregnant with her daughter. She said, "I loved making jewelry so much that I was making jewelry all the time and selling it to my co-workers so I could buy more beads. :) My co-workers from the law firm that I worked at started asking me to make jewelry with their kids at their birthday parties. Word spread and soon we were doing parties every weekend." It is no wonder as these birthday parties make it easier on the parents organizing the event.
Esther added, "We started receiving many requests for our workshops from people that were outside of the GTA, from all over Canada and the US. So we created the kits for those customers. They were also a lower price point which was great for non-profit organizations such as Girl Guides of Canada and Girl Scouts.
These kits have been very popular with people who live in rural areas, where it is hard to get to a store to buy all the material, for busy moms who do not want to go source all the material themselves, and for girl guide leaders who are not familiar with beading but are able to follow our instructions to provide their girls with a workshop."
Giveaway
Beading Buds are offering one lucky winner a set of 6 of their birthday kits including pliers so he or she can either host a party themselves or give it to a deserving friend or family member organizing a crafting event.

Hey! this is perfect. I was thinking about what to give to the kids who are coming for my daughter’s birthday. I have booked one of the finest venues in Chicago for her birthday celebration and I really want this day to be one of the best of her lives. I am glad I came across this amazing idea.
