I thought for a while the trend is for long necklaces. Now I am seeing more chokers! So basically, just like skirt length, you can make and wear necklaces any length you want! This really pretty and easy beaded pearl choker tutorial is by Anchik Martynova. It can also be used for bracelets.
The meandering line of seed beads is actually created in two steps.
This is suitable for beadwork beginners. It will also appeal to more seasoned beaders looking for something quick and easy to do.
I agree with the designer - it makes for a gorgeous wedding necklace.

How lovely. I must admit that the necklace/bracelet looks far more complicated than it realy is. Once I watched the video I realized that even I could accomplish it without any problem.
ReplyDeleteMe too! And I have very little time for beading these days!
DeleteYou know me Pearl - I'm not one to follow trends - just my heart. I make what I feel like making as I know there will always be someone out there who loves it no matter what the length or style.
ReplyDeleteI'm not surprised that chokers are making a comeback. That old saying - what goes around comes around. I remember fondly the days of my youth when I had a nice slim neck - I wore chokers all the time!
However - I think the Renaissance movies and period pieces that they are doing so often these days on tv and in the movies has helped to bring around the choker look again.
A beautiful choker looks stunning on a slim neck with a low decolletage....oh my! :0)
I personally never liked the choker style - too ticklish. And now, too many wrinkles, LOL!
