Cocktail Inspired Jewelry

Sometimes I am in awe of artisans who can see the potential in some pretty ordinary things and are able to create something from what would be thrown away. Maison Martin Magiela whose website is still under construction has a "lush" jewelry line or a drinking theme. The use of the bottle stops of wine and beer cans is inspired!

I had to look twice before I realised the necklace was made up of several beer can tabs. But my favourite is the pendant made from the wine bottle sealer with some wire wrapping thrown in. This design really doesn't look like it was an eco project, does it? Thanks to Crave for the "heads up" on this designer!
