Weekend Kits' $25 Gift Certificate Giveaway

By on Monday, October 03, 2011 66 Comments

Crystazzi Jewelry Rose Light Kit
My petition for a 36-hour day failed  miserably. So time is still one of our most precious commodities.  If you are struggling to find time to craft then a kit will help.

Kits mean you don't have to think about what to gather up. The color coordinated components are all assembled together  ready for you to pick up and start crafting right away when you have a spare moment.

So if this sounds like it might be up your street or if you know someone who would love one, then check out  Weekend Kits, the sponsor of this giveaway.

There are a whole ton of different craft kits, not only jewelry making ones on the site.  These kits are also a good way to learn a new craft or spend time creating with family or friends.

Bright Chain Jewelry Class in a Box
There is quite a range because Anne Hollenbeck, the founder of Weekend Kits was and still is a multi-crafter. Anne explained, "While my favorite craft categories are quilting and sewing, I’ve always been interested in learning a variety of new crafts, such as jewelry making, embroidery, and card making.  I believe I’ve tried a little bit of everything!"

Vintage Groove Butterfly and Quartz Jewelry Kit
Anne was an engineer in the high tech industry for many years but she always looked forward to crafting on her weekends  and was always on the lookout for her next craft project. About 3 1/2 years ago, she melded her fledgling business interest with her craft one and Weekend Kits was born.  Anne worked hard at the business every chance she got - early mornings, nights and weekends.  She was finally able to give up her day job six months ago! That's really inspiring!

 Earring Making Kits

Shown here are some of my favorite jewelry kits from her site but as most of us probably indulge in other types of crafts, be sure to explore Weekend Kits. Learning other crafts such as crochet or knitting will allow you to expand your jewelry making repertoire as you can adapt those techniques.

Giveaway
For your chance to win this gift certificate, all you have to do is make a comment below. Extra entries if you become or are a blog subscriber or follower etc. If you also help publicize this giveaway, those will count as additional entries too!  Please say so in the comments.

Weekend Kits is currently only set up to for US and Canadian customers but hopefully international shipping will be offered soon. So this giveaway is limited to US and Canadian readers.

The giveaway ends in a week's time at 6 pm EST Monday, October 10, 2011. I will pick a winner randomly and announce the results as soon as possible after. So be sure to come back and check! Good luck!

  1. What a great giveaway! Please count me in. This would make a nice Christmas for my nieces. They are very creative (even at a young age).

I am a Facebook fan and a subscriber.

Nice story as well. I always love hearing about fellow beaders who give up a job to pursue a dream of owning their own company. Great to do something you love.

  3. Sorry, my last comment should say "Christmas gift". Guess I shouldn't comment when I haven't had enough caffeine!

  5. I have purchased kits to learn a new technique and also for nieces who wanted to do something crafty. There are times when I look at my beads and cannot come up with something unique to make with them. I find a kit can help me avoid frustration and also while I am putting together the kit I get new inspirations which I incorporate into new designs with my existing bead stash.

Thanks again for the giveaway. Hope to see you at the farm again this year.

  6. Ha! Great minds think alike! I put together a craft kit with semi-precious stones and "words" such as "Peace" "Karma", etc., with teenage girls away at camp in mind, but my 75 year old mother loves them, too! Now I am thinking they would make a great stocking stuffer at my holiday home show....thanks for the reminder!

  11. Wow...a beautiful kit, this seems like a better way to begin jewelry making than finding bits and pieces and not knowing how to put them together.

Thanks for posting this beautiful giveaway!

  12. Kits are great because they do include all you need. Sometimes that's not just a time saver but also a solution to "what do I do next"...or it can be a new "problem" to add to "what do I do next" when I have so much I want to do already. But I love the choices and the confusion!

  13. Good for Anne, being able to quit her day job! Also, hurray for another science-type who loves crafting. :)

(When I took my super-hard chemistry class, it was always the engineering students who had an easy time. I was in awe!)
