Tired of the Same Old Earrings Style? These Hoop Tutorials will Change Things Up!

By on Thursday, June 25, 2015 4 Comments

It's always fun to change things up if you are tired of the same old earrings style.  I've written and featured many tutorials for different types (see below) before.  I do like the rectangular hoop ones though.  Donatella's tutorial over on her blog, Inspiration and Realisation is great because she uses a DIY jig with nails and some wood.   This saves having to measure and mark wires.  She made the lower part of her hoop narrower than the top.

If you can't be bothered to use or make a jig, check out Rena's rectangular hoop earrings tutorial over on Jewelry Making Journal.  She uses a marker pen to indicate where the bends are going to be.  Using a broad nose pliers helps make the bends as sharp as possible.

For a softer style, try the rounded hoop style by Dana Meredith over on Beadstyle Magazine. You do have to register (free) to see the tutorial if you cannot fathom how it is done..  If you already registered with Bead and Button, then the login is the same. I really like the look of 2 different colored metals.

    1. I love simple and easy too! I think more people should make their own ear wires.
