Coiled and Twisted Wire Earrings Tutorials

By on Wednesday, June 08, 2016 2 Comments

Coiled wire embellishments to just plain wire certainly adds texture and elegance to wire jewelry designs. There are different ways.  This first tutorial for coiled and twisted wire earrings  over on the Kreativ Vagyok site is by  Erika Schneider. Here the wire coiling is carried out on a long wire. The embellished wire is then twisted and looped.  The beads are then wired onto the final design.  I would use a wire coiling tool to make the coiling go faster instead of just manually wrapping around the main wire.

Erika's other earrings tutorial also uses coils and twists but in a totally different manner.  She makes a coil which she then stretches and then twists flat. These are the even wire loops you see wire wrapped around the wire frame.  This design can easily be made into a pendant.

Both tutorials are not in English so you will need to translate the pages. For computer users, use the Chrome browser, right click and select translate to English. For mobile device users, use the Chrome app (free) and agree to the translation when asked.

  1. I think that a wire coiling tool is overlooked far too often with respect to all the possible designs you could come up with while using one.

Perhaps a book with designs with just a wire coiling tool is what is needed next in the world of jewelry making.

These two designs are quite lovely. Coils add a certain oomph to everything.

    1. Yes, coils add dimension and texture to designs. Always a good feature to add.
