Fun and Funky Hanging Cactus Necklace Tutorial

By on Friday, August 19, 2016 2 Comments

Shrink plastic has been around for decades and have never lost their popularity.  Jewelry makers who are also artists can use the material for fun and funky ideas.  One great tutorial is by Gloria Fort Mir who came up with a hanging cactus necklace design. Making it a planter is a great idea.  Sure it is quirky and not for everyone but there are those who love quirky!

If you're good at hand-drawn whimsies, this tutorial is for you.  Just remember that you have to draw approximately 3 x the final size of  the piece you want.  Check out the second link below for the video on tips and tricks including how to make your own shrink plastic ruler which helps you estimate final sizes.

The tutorial also includes a printable link for the different cactus designs  featured.
