Treva wanted earrings that were purple toned. She used two sizes of faceted crystal glass beads to create a design that had the weight she preferred. The triple scrolled ends of the sterling silver pin added just the right finishing touch.

Crystal glass is a sparkly and affordable substitute for costly gemstones like diamonds. These are high quality Czech crystal and like Swarovski crystal, these have been faceted just like expensive gemstones. The lead oxide content gives the crystals great clarity and brilliance. The extra sparkle is due to a much higher refractive index than regular glass. The facets are usually machined cut.
