Women who love wearing big and heavy earrings run the risk of earlobe hole elongation. Not exactly attractive. The Lobe Wonder is a product I recently came across which can bring relief and prevent further damage. These are clear self-adhesive and hypoallergenic patches applied to help support the weight of the heavy earrings. Each patch is just 1/4" diameter. A packet of 60 costs $10.
The problem of overly heavy earrings is not new. Girandoles, the forerunner of modern chandelier earrings, started to be really popular in the 17th century. They were so gem-encrusted that little ribbon loops were built into the design so that the wearers could pin the ribbons to their upswept hairstyles to help take up the weight. You can see pictures of girandoles in my past post.

I've never been comfortable in heavy earrings. And that stretched out ear-hole is why. Gives me the willies! I'm squeamish about some things and that's one of them!
