British designer Yunju Lee has a witty sense of design. Those irritating stains we find on clothing were the inspiration behind these whimsical brooches and ring. You know - ink blots from leaking pens, iron marks and that dribbled ketchup from the last hamburger you ate? These are like our badges of everyday life!
My absolute favourite is the gold plated lipstick on the collar brooch. I also fancy the silver iron ring and brooch since I once actually marked a garment that way whilst ironing - I was so engrossed with a tv program that I forgot to move the iron! Yunju Lee was a finalist at the 2008 International Jewellery London "Bright Young Gems Award". The jewelry made me smile and I think this young designer will go far.

Love the gold lips as well!
ReplyDeleteFor many reasons I won't bore you with, my husband and I usually eat in the living room. I got very tired of the little dots on my shirts and started using a kitchen towel (like a bib). It has the best brooch ideas your designer could ask for.
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever idea an I agree they'll go far.

Have you seen Arthur Hash jewelry on ObjectFetish.com? He makes brooches from those coffee stains you make on your table clothe.
