Tim Burton's remake of Alice in Wonderland (3D) isn't even out yet - you'll have to wait till March 5. But the merchandising machine has already started. Tom Binns and Stella McCartney have collections. Swarovski have also teamed up with Disney for a separate line.
The pieces feature much loved characters such as the Cheshire Cat, the White Rabbit and the villainous Queen of Hearts. Some of the jewelry items will remind you of many scenes from the story such as the key which Alice uses to unlock the door, tea pots and the fob watch the White Rabbit carries. My favorite has to be the lovely floral necklace inspired by the fantasy garden scene.
Why am I so enchanted with this movie to come? It's because of Tim Burton's marvelous art designs and direction. This one is infused with color unlike his darker Nightmare before Christmas and The Corpse Bride (lovely music). It's not a retelling of the original tale but of a 19-year-old Alice who revisits the Wonderland of her childhood. The evil Red Queen has taken over and Alice must help to put things right. Check out the second trailer from the movie which was released last month.
