Do you find you need more ideas to use up your beads and findings? Then here are some designers who did. They added bling to shoes and accessories.
Fendi heiress, Delfina Delettrez who I featured before (her skeletal hand jewelry), came up with several footwear and accessory designs - Zanotti shoes (2010 Collection ), Causse leather gloves and Alain Mikli sunglasses.
The stilletto adornment in the top picture is quite dainty compared to the hip boot chain jewelry or shoe chains I wrote about before. The second shoe bling design reminds me of the clip on shoe jewelry you can get.
Are you the casual kind of person? Then decorate your flip flops! I featured an artisan before who added Swarovski crystals to embellish flip flops to make them suitable for a beach wedding. Here are a couple of Aubreysbeads videos (Part 1 and Part 2) showing us how to adorn flip flops with paper beads. But you can certainly use other beads too.
Don't go out much? Or don't own a pair of stilettos? Embellish your house shoes instead! Disney over at the Ruffles and Stuff blog's has a pretty ballet slipper makeover tutorial using silk, cotton, tulle and pearls.
It inspired Sachiko of Tea Rose Home to come up with her own slipper tutorial but with lace and pearls instead.

Wow -now I can combine two of my favorite things - shoes and jewelry. I love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat great ideas...I've seen the shoe & eye glass bling before but not the glove bling...that is different!
ReplyDeleteCheers
Just watched the video on the flip flops. She taught it so well, I can't wait to go shopping for the necessary items, my friends are going to be so jealous, LOL!
ReplyDeleteI think I may buy flip flops in a few colours to wear through out the summer. Thanks for sharing this.
The paper beaded flip flops especially caught my eye because recently I started a blog as a Web presence for Women of Worth Uganda, a very small group of beaders in Uganda who make these paper beads out of recycled magazine pages.
