Myrna brought some old earrings which belonged to her grandmother. As you can see in the photo, one of the gold tone earrings was broken. She was not keen on the old fashioned screw mechanism of the second pair. Still they were both sentimental pieces so we did a makeover job on both of them.
The ear wire portions of the gold tone pair were trimmed leaving just one end long enough to do a loop. Then jump rings were used to attach them to new ear wires. The screws of the silver tone pair were cut off. The U-shaped portions were then bent such that they became large loops which were then attached to new lever back ear wires.
Myrna also brought in a pearl necklace which was broken with some pearls missing. After some thought and playing around with beads, she decided to add these lovely two tone glass beads to compliment the color of the pearls. In the process, she lengthened the necklace to suit her.
