It's been a long break over summer but Art Beads' Design Partner fun is back. I should explain for the benefit of new readers. I am part of Art Bead's pool of blogging design partners. We are given a theme and a choice of materials to create unique designs for their gallery. The first part of the Colors of Falls Gallery is already up.
Fall is actually my favorite season. I love seeing the transitioning colors of the leaves. So for my wire wrapped jewelry set design, I chose some of their Swarovski bicones in 7 colors - shades of red, green, orange, yellow and brown. The only other material used was sterling silver - wire and chain, jump rings, head pins and a lobster clasp.
This choker style necklace has an original adjustable chain design at the back as well as matching earrings. I think it looks best when the focal rests near the collarbone. Like a little dimpled smile! As you can see, it can be worn with jackets or shirts as well as peasant blouses!
This jewelry set is now part of my LIFE COLLECTION where all the net proceeds go to cancer research.
Art Beads passed on two Pantone’s 2010 Fall Color Report links for inspiration which might interest some of you. There is the pdf download and the online view versions. They also suggested the free online tool Color Scheme Designer for those who love to explore color combination possibilities.

I was admiring this set in your shop, it is beautiful. Like how you handled the extension chain at the back.
ReplyDeleteThanks Regina. The extension chain had to be that way as it was a set focal in the front. Normal extension chains would have created a lop-sided necklace.

Very pretty Pearl - I would wear it for sure!
ReplyDeleteThat is so pretty, truly like the design and colors!
ReplyDeleteI'm pleased you all think so! I have been making bolder jewelry before but perhaps I should continue with the delicate line!
ReplyDeleteReally pretty designs Pearl. Love the colors - this is my favorite time of year as well.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pieces Pearl! I've had my materials, just haven't had a moment to sit down and design the ideas I sketched out. Ironically your second necklace pictured is similar to the idea I had. The hope is to create sometime this coming weekend. Thanks for sharing!
