Miju on Etsy is the brain child of Mike Giles and Judy Lawrence who hail from Montreal, Canada. They specialize in making distinctive laser cut wood jewelry.
What caught my eye was their Manha collection which is Navajo inspired. Their Native American inspired jewelry has striking geometric Thunderbird and feather designs. Texture effects are etched onto the pieces and the bold colors are hand painted.
The wooden pendants are all solid walnut which are leftover pieces from Mike'swood working shop, Furni. What a splendid way of using unwanted but precious bits of wood!

I love these geometric designs.

Very cool designs...I love it when someone uses what would be scraps in their jewelry designs! I've been using my scrap silver for sometime now. I know silver can be sent away but I like the idea of using it myself!

These are magnificent! They're very unique and I like that they are made with wood and scraps. The effect is wonderful, too. :D I love Native American designs; thanks for sharing these!
ReplyDeleteThe striking looks and the clever use of scraps was what caught my attention!
ReplyDeleteVery unusual. Never see anything so beautiful and from wood. Very original. Good Luck:) Just an idea, can we somehow join our copper jewelry with your wooden beautiful jewelry ?
ReplyDeleteTry contacting them and see. Copper and wood make a fab combination!
