So it helps to have a role model. One incredible jewelry photographer is Israeli Dmitriy Yoav Reinshtein. His reflective shots of some, if not all, of Michael (Michal) Negrin's scrumptious jewelry.

ReplyDeleteHe is a master of bokeh for sure. The out of focus background should be relatively easy for jewelry artisans since we photograph real close but the Hollywood style bokeh with the light circles is something else! Check out this video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRJMisfK_-Q
ReplyDeleteBeautiful jewelry and gorgeous photos. The only time my camera created hazy circles of lights was by accident. I was shooting outside and there was a light drizzle, the water droplets in the atmosphere created all these orbs floating in the air. It was unusual but not the photo I had been trying to capture. :)
