I have a soft spot for purses and handbags. If you have been reading my blog for a while, you'll remember the post about the beautiful seed bead purse my mother made for me (see last link below).
You could embellish purses with all sorts of beads too. Here is a fantastic Swarovski Woven Purse tutorial . Click on the link there for the full pdf instructions.
The tutorial involves making the leather woven section first. The Swarovski beads are then sewn on with transparent nylon thread. If you'd rather not make the woven leather part, I dare say getting a pre-made woven purse and embellishing it with Swarovski pearls will work too. Definitely the way to go if you are more the instant gratification type!

The clutch is adorable but the instructions are rather involved. Maybe after making the first one others would go quickly?
ReplyDeleteWonder how wide this clutch would be as I've seen some that are only wide enough to accommodate a credit card. If you tried to put a tube of lipstick inside it made the bag bulge, forget about keys or a wallet !
It`s a good sized bag - nearly 10 x 5 inches. But as there is no gusset, it`s best not to put anything bulky in it. In terms of speed, I think it`s quicker to get a woven purse and embellish it with crystals!!
