I've seen and even featured chain and braided yarn bracelet tutorials before. However Rachel's cool mixed media bracelet tutorial over at Transient Expression (UPDATE : tutorial no longer available )requires knitting!
Her clever tutorial shows how to attach the metal chain to the knitting needle with yarn loops thus setting up for the first row of knitting.
You can use any color you wish - think about coordinating with outfits - or even add different color combinations. Best thing yet, this is a yarn stash busting idea!

Gina over at Crochet Clouds has a different approach. Her Anthropologie inspired version (UPDATE : link no longer works) is a knitted tube with short lengths of chain. Her bracelet has no closure as the knitted portion has some give. Nice touch with the tag charm.
