I first stumbled on Corra Liew of Malaysia's jewelry back in 2008 when she had been working with wire for only a year.  But what a year that must have been because she went from utter beginner to a wire jewelry virtuoso.  And she started off with  hard-to-manipulate stainless steel wire to boot! She had just completed her first ever jewelry tutorial.


Her lovely Chinese Wire Knotted Pipa Love Knot Earrings (shown above) from her site, De Cor's Handmade Jewelry, was the design that first caught my attention.  Corra was the very first person I know to translate an ancient Chinese cord knot into wire to great effect!

Corra went on to create other innovative designs. Her site shows various pipa styles and other wire knots.  One of my favorites is her Secret Treasury pendant tutorial (below) which is based on another old Chinese button knot design. This one is at the advanced level.



One of her pretty designs rated at the beginner level is the Snowflakes earrings based on her love knot design.  Corra says there are only 13 steps to making this pair. The pearls really do add a touch of elegance!


It's not just Chinese knots that inspire her but Celtic ones too. Below is her intermediate level Celtic Knot pendant tutorial.


I also love some of her more contemporary designs like her Serena Flower stud earrings.


Her designs are all delicate and on the smaller side which is a personal design preference of hers.
