It's one thing to like eco friendly jewelry but to walk the talk? That's another matter. Oregon-based Barbi Touron and Aaron Shear, the designers behind Urban Lace, are recycled jewelry artisans who do. I wrote about these amazing recycled bicycle inner tube jewelry before . Now they are back with a wonderful bracelet giveaway for one lucky winner!
Their collection really lives up to the name - it's urban chic and it's feminine too with the lacy cut outs. Every piece is handmade. The old inner tubes collected from various bike shops are carefully washed before being made into bracelets.A special plant-based coating is added to give the pieces a shiny luster. The resulting designs are durable and soft to wear. Striking too!
Their work really does epitomizes how eco designs can also be stunning. They said, "We believe that a business should be environmentally, animal and people friendly. We believe you should love what you do and do it without harm. Without pollutants and with happy, healthy employees. We strive to create Earth friendly products that not only people will love to wear , but will allow others to think about items in their everyday life a little differently. We hope that our jewelry will make people see a new way of living, a world where everything isn't disposable but reusable." Hear, hear!
Shown above are three of Urban Lace's latest designs. They also make necklaces, earrings and masks!
Just out is their Dusk mask - perfect for Halloween don't you think? Halloween chic has a nice ring to it!
