Kitty Bozzini has a memorable shop name! Who can forget the Stinky Dog Beads store? Her three dogs make her smile!
Kitty started out as a lamp work artist and has now branched out to "offering one of a kind findings and beads that add that special something to any design."
One of the things she is starting to offer in her store is Wooly Wire. Wooly Wire is an artisanal product - felted wool on 24 G craftwire. This is the brainchild of Nellie Thomas, the fiber artist behind Spin Culture. She prepares the yarn all the way from the sheared fleece through dyeing, spinning and felting the wire.
As Wooly Wire is so new, Kitty realized she had to show its potential. So Kitty teamed up with Polish artisan (don't you just love the borderless collaborations?) Kasia of KicaFiKa to come up with a wire work tutorial using Wooly Wire.
As you can see from the Plum Medley earring design way at the top, Wooly Wire adds color to pieces. Mixed media projects results in a much softer look to wire work pieces.
Kitty also pointed out two inspirational Wooly Wire earrings design are by Meridy Migchelbrink of Two Trees Studio on Etsy.
