After a brutal winter - especially in Nova Scotia where I used to live, summer is most welcome indeed. Out with heavy boots and in with sandals! Want to make your sandals more memorable? Then bling them up! This tutorial for how to add Swarvoski crystals to sandals is by Erica over on Honestly...WTF.
I really liked the huge rhinestones she used. They come with their own settings. The rhinestones are held with the prongs of the settings. Each crystal is then glued onto the sandals. It is best to chose flat and wide strap sandals for better adhesion.
Erica's tutorial gives the links to where you can buy the crystals and settings. These being Swarovski are not cheap. Anyone know of less expensive alternatives?
I agree with her. Everything is better with bling!

If in the US - then Hobby Lobby or someplace like that.
ReplyDeleteI've got mine from Michaels - but only with a coupon or when on sale....and from a fabric store. I also go to Value Village - or catch the local Salvation Army store when they are having their dollar days.....you can find some blingy jewelry and take it apart....
Great tips! Yes I also only shop at Micaels armed with coupons!
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree that everything is better with bling. The sparkle rhinesotne beads made the ordinary sandals more special.
