I really like Katie Hacker's Bubbly Baubles necklace tutorial over on Artbeads for several reasons. First of all, it is easy for beginners and gives plenty of practice making many, many wire wrapped loops. Usually this style of necklace involves a base chain or strung on beading cord but I like how she used a thick leather cord instead. I think paracord will also look good for more colorful designs.
Sure you can use all manner of beads - crystals, pearls and so on. But it is also a great way to use up odd beads. We all have those! Check out the links below for more ways to use up your hard to use stash.

This would certainly use up lots of my odds and sods beads....good idea and so simple!
ReplyDeleteUsing up odd beads is essential to us and I'm keeping notes on all the ideas in this post. Frankly, the leather fringe necklace is my favorite so far. It worries me that the leather cord, even though thick, will wear off with time. But, then, we can come up with a new makeover :)
