I've covered how to make French or kidney style ear wires before. This style of ear wires has a secure catch which reduces the chances of losing the earrings. But I also love Robin Atkin's ear wire tutorial over on her blog Beadlust. It is a clever way of showing off lampwork beads or other kinds of beautiful beads. The wire loop at the back doubles up as the catch.
One suggestion is to actually apply a little glue to keep the beads on the wire. Just in case the back loop opens accidentally. Nobody wants to lose beads!

I'm wondering how hard it is to get that wire into that little loop. I'm wondering about leaving the loop a tiny bit open and facing forward to then catch the wire like in a pinback clasp.....hmmmm....
ReplyDeleteThat is a great tip! It would be something I would do too. Then the action would be like kidney ear wires.
