Thread Wrapped Mixed Media Earrings Tutorial

By on Friday, March 02, 2018 1 Comments

Thread wrapping is a great technique to use when you want to add a strong color to a jewelry design. Check out this awesome mixed media earrings tutorial by Brittany Watson Jepsen of The House That Lars Built.  The earrings was inspired by this gorgeous Rajana Khan.

She actually made the foundation ring out of polymer clay. A wise choice as polymer clay is much lighter than a metal ring!  Heavy earrings will eventually cause the holes of pierced ears to elongate. Not a pretty sight.

It happens to be a green design. Might be just the thing for St Patrick's Day, right?

  1. You know - I've never thought of doing this and using polymer clay instead of a metal washer is a brilliant idea! Good find Pearl!
