Circular Miyuki Peyote Pendant Tutorial Uses an Internal Plastic Ring

Mandrels are useful, not just for wire workers but for beaders too. This tutorial is by Canalcraft Beading, a Spanish beader, uses some sort of plastic rod to help maintain the shape of the large ring during the beading process. But she also beads around an internal plastic ring.

The internal plastic ring also helps keep the shape but you probably don't need it if you are good at beading and can control the right amount of tension when you work.
