Do you want to build a snowman? You don't even need any snow or have to go out in the cold. Check out these ornament and jewelry tutorials for inspiration!

I like this first tutorial which is a wire ornament (shown above) from Joceyln of  Fantasia Elegance. The design is made from a single length of thick wire - see the tutorial listings for the supply list.  Her Youtube channel is here

A very easy pair of beaded snowman earrings can be made by slipping different beads onto head pins. See this tutorial by JuliesWreathBoutique. These make easy holiday gifts.

You can also use the same beaded snowman idea by making them into links as shown in this chain necklace tutorial by Allie from PotomacBeads

Allie  also have a different kind of snowman beaded earrings which are made with crystals.

This adorable felt snowman ornament uses little beads for the eyes and is a great use of odd buttons!  The tutorial is by Craft House Magic

Raymond Briggs' The Snowman

Raymond Briggs  (1934-2022) was an English illustrator, graphic novelist and author best known for his masterpiece, The Snowman (1978). It is a beautifully illustrated children's picture book which was made into an animated short film in 1984.  Loved by both adults and children, the classic movie has become a holiday favorite. For many, it conjures up childhood memories as well as the love and guidance of caring adults which endure after they are long gone.

There are no words in the original book. A small boy builds a snowman which comes to life. After showing the snowman around his house, the snowman then takes the boy on a journey to see the wonders of his wintry world.

The film also has no words except for the beautiful song, "Walking in the Air" by Howard Black, sung here by Peter Autry.

There are many covers to this song but this recording from Libera is an exquisite standout. The lead treble here is Luca Brugnoli. Libera is an amazing not-for-profit all boy choir  (ages 7-16) whose members come from different backgrounds in South London. They prefer to be known as a boy band! They tour internationally.
