My most popular items in my shop are the wood bezels - either as physical products or the laser cutting files. The most popular use of them are for embroidered pendants. How do I know this? It's when I discover a buyer also has a shop.
Canadian embroidery artist, Juanita of JuanitaSauveFibreArt does beautiful hand embroidered art as pendants, wall art and ornaments. She was interested in trying out new shapes so she bought the square bezels from me as you can see in her pendant design below which features autumn trees.

I've been blogging for nearly two decades now and have never covered French or bullion wire. I did use it early on for protecting beading wire or thread at the clasp ends but once I discovered wire guardians, I never returned to it. But I have belatedly realised there is much, much more to this very old type of finding.
French or bullion wire is a very, very fine coil of thin wire which has been traditionally used, together with gold braids and lace, to heavily decorate military uniforms, court and ecclesiastical dress and so forth.

There is a cardinal rule for scientists - never assume. Well, I (as a former scientist who should have known better) broke that rule last week. This was when I featured Lynn's great tip for bead storage for working with complex pictures. I had assumed it was a bead embroidered picture and said so. A reader corrected me and Lynn recently sent me a close up which clearly shows she accomplished her dog picture with peyote stitch.

Gorgeous Embroidered Patch Appliques by OhMyCrown

I have often admired gorgeous embroidery patch designers. Their creations are meant to be appliqued onto jackets and other accessories. These are like sewn or iron on and washable brooches! I also wonder if one could simply attach brooch findings to the backs so they can be easily transferred to other clothing.

One outstanding embroidered patch applique designer is Lithuanian Inga Ju of OhMyCrown. She finds inspirations for her stunning pieces from a variety of sources such as nature, books, fantasy creatures and so on. It was soooooo very hard to pick my favorites. I bet you will have difficulty choosing too as she has so many in her collections.

Vintage Japanese Craft eBook Tutorials from NapaginiVintage

It's not easy to find Japanese PDFs and craft books. However NapaginiVintage (no longer available) has of some of their great vintage ones dating from before 2000 which are worth looking at. These tutorial bundles are very cost effective. They cater to different craft techniques. Here are my selections from those which could be applied to making jewelry and accessories.
Japanese craft books are usually very well illustrated with clear diagrams so language, if not in English, should not be a problem to decipher. My late, very crafty but illiterate maternal grandmother picked up some craft patterns from Japanese books. Girls in her day in British Malaya - now Malaysia - were not sent to school.

Vincent Van Gogh Inspired Jewelry and Craft Tutorials | The Troubled Life of a Gifted Artist and How His Work Became Famous

The Dutch painter, Vincent van Gogh is arguably one of the most famous and admired Post Impressionist painters today. His powerful brush strokes and bold colors make his work so vibrant - despite a tortured life. In his short lifetime, his work was not appreciated and he only ever sold one painting!
Shown above is the beautiful hand embroidery pattern of his most famous work, Starry Night. The designer is Iryna Kutsyna of bloomingdaythings. Iryna is one of the rare Van Gogh fans whose designs also include his other famous works including the sunflowers still life shown below. Van Gogh painted many sunflower pictures. He wanted to always paint things as they were - he didn't care if some of the blooms were way past their best!

Beautiful Nature Inspired Embroidered Necklaces, Tutorials and DIY Kits by Maidenwood

I first came across Canadian designer, Sophie's work when she kindly uploaded a photograph her hand embroidered pendants to the review section of my Etsy supply store. I was so taken by what she had done with my laser cut wood bezels. This eventually led me to her wonderful shop, maidenwood.
Sophie uses both metal and wood bezels to great effect for her nature inspired designs. I particularly love her mushrooms!
