Happy New Year! I hope this year will be a good year for everyone. I also include all the supersitious Brazilian women who made sure they wore yellow underwear at midnight last night (New Year`s Eve). That is if they managed to buy any as that colour of underwear has been selling like hot cakes. Duloren, one of Brazil’s biggest underwear producers reportedly could not keep up with demand.
Brazilians, like many people everywhere, are afraid of the global financial restrictions or credit crunch crisis and wish to avoid it. Why yellow? It is because yellow symbolises money or gold. Not only do they have to wear yellow underwear, but they must also wash it in the new year and then wear the lingerie inside out on the first Friday. I wonder if it will work?

Okay, whoever created that superstition is probably laughing that people are actually doing it. Or is it an old superstition? The 'wearing it inside out on Friday' makes it sound much more like a modern day prank. :)
