I really admire artisans who come up with original and innovative jewelry ideas. Melissa Borrell is one such person because she makes pop out jewelry. She actually asked the question "What is jewelry when it is not being worn?" As you can see, her designs do look like line drawings. So when you pop them out, you'll be wearing her drawings!

The pop out pieces can either be linked with chain or linked much more closely together.

A variant of her transformable jewelry is her 2D>3D collection. The jewelry is shipped as flat pieces of concentric circles. YOU decide how you like to wear it by determining how much you want to open it!  Clever!

Melissa holds a Master of Fine Arts in jewelry and metals. She is based in San Franscisco but sells her work to galleries and stores around the country.  You can also buy her designs online.
