Children's Art Turned into Jewelry

By on Tuesday, February 08, 2011 4 Comments

Swedish metal smith, Mia van Beek of Formia Design makes the most whimsical jewelry sure to melt the hearts of parents who commission her work. They will treasure these pieces forever because Mia creates them based on the drawings of their children!

Nothing daunts her! She is able to convert little sketches and doodles into really adorable pendants, key chains, bookmarks and charms using a range of metals such as sterling silver, gold and stainless steel.

Not only can she faithfully render copies of the art work but she also includes all the nuances and character of the youngsters' unique drawings. Mia, in short, captures their imagination and preserves their work in a wonderfully durable and artistic format.

Check out how to submit a commission and order here. Mia is also on Etsy.

  3. The charm bracelet would be an ideal way to immortalize the little ones art. I can imagine a mother saying; "This one was when Albert was only 3 and here is one he did at 4. Notice how much his motor skills have improved? And this one at age 5 shows that he really has an eye for form and art."
Would almost be like Grandma with all her wallet-photos of her grandchildren. :D
