Wire Wrapped Caged Crystal Earrings Tutorial

By on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 2 Comments

Gloria over on Domestic Diva Online has a lovely wire wrapped caged crystal earrings tutorial. It is elegant and yet not to difficult to accomplish.  She has a simple yet clever way to form the cage frame. The wire wrapping on the sides just adds a touch of elegance to her design. She has used briolettes for her tutorial.

You can also use top drilled crystals.  Just wrap the wire ends on the top jump ring and at the bottom V of the frame.

You might wonder - "But there is a front and back frame?"  The solution is to use 2 lengths of wire to do what I just described. The top ends can be wrapped side by side. The bottom 2 ends will be wrapped one each on front and back frame.  This will also help stabilize the crystals.

  2. This is so smart - I have a problem keeping the width of the woven frame and adding beads would make it easier!
