Sculptured 3D Leather Earrings Tutorial Has So Many Possibilities!

By on Thursday, September 01, 2016 2 Comments

Brooklyntonia over on Instructables came up with a neat way of cutting and folding leather so that it has a sculptured 3D look. As you can see from her tutorial, she starts with cardstock and then transfers the pattern to leather before cutting it out. The result reminds me a little of the paper lanterns I made as a child.

I agree with the designer, You can come up with different shapes and sizes so use some cardstock and get playing!!  The paper you cut can be folded, bent, twisted - so try different approaches.

    1. Leather has two great qualities - it is soft yet strong enough for sculptural designs.
