Did you press some dried flowers this summer?  I have quite a few dried flower and resin tutorials on my blog - see the links at the end. But what if you want to do more than jewelry?  Check out these two really creative ideas from Arizonan crafter, Sibia Torres Padilla. She instructs in the use of natural and recycled materials.

Shown here are two of her quick tutorials from her Instagram, @sibster. If you are not on Instagram, just close the sign in box (on a desktop computer), and you will be able to see the tutorials.

The first is the clever dried flowers on die cut recycled plastic circles project, shown as a still above. If you are not on Instagram, just close the sign in box (on a desktop computer), and you will be able to see the tutorial.

Yes, ordinary paper punches do work on the type of plastic used for food sales. Please check out this past post of mine which shows you how to press flowers quickly using a microwave and a flower presser.

Her second cactus inspired tutorial uses puffy paint and Mod Podge mixed with food colouring to colour parts of the cactus. The dried flowers and leaves are applied with clear glue.

Want to learn more from Sibia? She has a brand new book called, Charming Woodland Crafts!

I also love this suncatcher idea from eHOW using dried flowers, upcycled plastic and the open lids from mason jars. The static tutorial is here.
