Crochet amigurumi animals are incredibly popular. I spotted a lot of these in recent years when I've gone to various craft shows. Patterns for these are also trending in a huge way. So much so that I had great difficulty in selecting just these few! Soft and squishy little animals make for great keychain or bag charms. Please check out the links at the end if you prefer small animal beaded tutorials.

I particularly love the humourous ones like the funny chicken (and frog) pattern from kisiselamigurumi, shown above.
The animal head crochet patterns such as this farm animal set from CroxartStoreIt's great for beginners because you don't have to deal with making the body portion,

Awww. Say hello this cute cow keychain pattern from Devlogicsy.

Many crocheters love the thick plushy yarn which makes it much faster to make these kinds of animal keychains below. The designer is CondenserStudio.

I like how this designer, fluffbaellchen, gave her animal amigurumi hanging basket options!

FUN ON THE USELESS FARM

Canadian Amanda, her husband and two sons, own an animal farm in Ontario, just outside Kingston. It's affectionately called The Useless Farm because the rescue animals there provide nothing but enjoyment. Theirs is not a sanctuary or rescue but came to being as a retirement home and a second chance at life for an odd collection of animals - several emus, alpacas, peacocks, donkeys, geese etc. Amanda is amazing. She works full time and runs the farm with the help of her family.

Amanda's Youtube channel is a hoot as she shares both the joys and perils of taking care of them as well as some of their unique personalities. Honestly, even the website is full of humour where "Everyone is welcome, except Brad." Brad is an aggressive silkie rooster who only became docile when he was attacked probably by some wild creature and needed care. Then there is Karen, the well named, short-fused emu who is constantly attacking Amanda. She is arguably a fan favourite. She was called that well before Karen became what we most associate the name with. Contrast that with Stanley, the sweet and affectionate emu, mate to Karen.

A quick Global TV interview with Amanda :

Amanda is a comedic genius. Here are a few of my favourites.
