Illusions are clever tricks to fool us into the realm of impossibility. Magicians have long entertained us this way. Jewelry designers also have a whole slew of creations which make us take a second look and in some cases, wonder how they did that!

Illusion jewelry based on near invisible fishing lineshave been around for a long time. This requires very neat gluing of pearls or beads. Really gorgeous when done well as shown in this six layer floating pearl necklace, shown above, by PearlFans.

Earring designers have many ways to fool us into thinking designs are not for regular pierced ears when they really are! Here is an excellent example of illusion earrings by LentiJewelry. They have many other designs to ogle over!

This fun and novel idea of embedding crystals in clear resin rings gives the illusion of floating gems! The designer is jamincjewelry.

Ear jackets are another illusionary trick because the back butterfly also carries the second design as shown in this illusion gold triangle earrings by EvaJonesJewellery.

This clever cube laser cut wood earrings fool our eyes into thinking it is a 3D design when it is not. The designer is LazyJackalCrafts.

Beaders will appreciate this cube peyote bracelet pattern from ShinyBeadArt with a clever colour palette to create a 3D illusion.

I also like this dynamic geometric diamond illusion earrings from IvayaCollections because each piece moves to create a 3D design. They have many geometric jewelry designs.

Last but not least is this SVG digital file below ScrappinCop for laser cutting from what seems like impossible interlocking wood ring earrings!  There is a small slit in the design to allow this to happen. It's cleverly hidden behind the part of the hoop which overlays the one below.

Genius Movie Stunts from the 1920's

We are so accustomed to today's movie illusions which use CGI, green screens and motion capture. But what about back in the 1920's?  How did they trick the audience?  Watch this amazing video from @Lost in Time.
